Campus Ministry at KSC

When our ministry began over forty years ago in 1963, the challenge of balancing faith and action was central. Keene State College has grown dramatically since then.

The size of our college community has tripled, and the needs of a diverse population in search of wholeness and spirituality have continued to impact our vision.

We seek to serve the whole College community, with opportunities for worship, reflection, spiritual formation, and support for the difficult times. We try to provide this service through weekly gatherings, special events, prayer times, study and retreats. The practical side to our ministry is always close at hand. We try to participate in and support the work of a variety of community service organizations, like the Community Kitchen.

You’ll find us and our students in action at CropWalk, projects for Habitat for Humanity, Amnesty International, and other Peace and Justice organizations.

We celebrate our faith through events which mark the Christian Year, giving special attention to Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter, including a Sunrise Service at dawn on Easter Sunday.

The House
The Campus Ministry owns and utilizes a house at 51 Blake Street, which is just adjacent to the college, as our base of operations. We have space for worship and programs, and room for students to gather, relax and study. This house is also home to the Campus Minister and his wife, and frequently it’s the home for visitors as well.

Our Support
We are supported by five Christian denominations: United Church of Christ,  United Methodist Church, The Episcopal Church,  Presbyterian Church USA, and  American Baptist Church. We meet some of our students through these traditions, as well as students who come to college with no experience in a Christian Church.
We are governed by a board of directors which includes members from the supporting churches, the college staff and faculty, and also students. We are also  supported by gifts from individuals, alumni, and members of several local churches.

The Staff
The KSC Campus Ministry is staffed by a local UCC pastor, Paul Cullity.  We have a student executive board, and a volunteer administrative assistant in the office. Please feel free to call or visit if you have any questions or needs.
